“Vienna” by Billy Joel
David wrote this about “Vienna", the fourth of his Top 5, “A timeless classic that has directed my life for the better part of 3 years, Vienna can soothe the restlessness inside my head in an unmatched fashion. The lyrics pierce the aching soul like an overgrown rosebush. A bittersweet track, Vienna stings but offers beauty beneath its pain. As someone who constantly wishes to be further ahead in life, Vienna reels me back in and reminds me that the years will keep rolling as they should, so long as I allow them to."

“Eyes Without a Face” by Billy Idol
This 1983 classic from Billy Idol is number one in David’s Top 5. About the song he wrote, "Eyes Without a Face describes feelings of hopelessness and confusion. Lyrics describing losing someone over wrongdoings yet not feeling the need to despise them make the listener think about what really matters: YOU. Looking to someone you once loved and seeing nothing in their eyes gives you the closure you might not get otherwise. A deep, cutting song that tells you what you need to hear even if you can't accept what's true. It's my favorite song of all time, and it's the comfort I always need."
