The Can You Feel It Radio Show periodically features a listener provided Top 5 list of songs.    The theme of every Top 5 list is the contributing listener’s choice. This is an archive of all the lists that have been submitted up to now.

Tony Beard of Louisville, Kentucky submitted his Top 5 Albums He Can’t Stop Listening To, a list that featured Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, The Who and Pink Floyd.

Top 5 Songs That Can Make A Grown Man Cry

Sean Tisdale of Lexington, Kentucky submitted his Top 5 Songs That Can Make A Grown Man Cry. His list included songs by Led Zeppelin, George Harrison, The Rolling Stones and two from Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Top 5 Long Songs That Close Out Albums

Milwaukee native and University of Kenturcky student Henry Hegemann is a vinyl collector who is a firm believer in closing albums with a strong track so he submitted is Top 5 Long Songes That Close Albums. His 5 includes songs by Stone Temple Pilots, Led Zepplin, The Who, Metellica and Greta Van Fleet.

I’m a child of the 70s and classic rock is my jam. All three of our kids share our love of the artists who defined rock before it went off the rails. I listen to these five albums at least twice a month, sometimes more if I’m biking the hills around GB or running around Lake Mansfield.

This year’s Top 5 Christmas albums recognizes George Winston for his LP December. George Winston passed away in 2023 so I placed him in my Top 5 for the year.

Usually the top Top 5 are submitted by listeners. And I was hoping I would get a Top 5 Christmas songs or Top 5 Christmas albums submission. But I did not, so in the absence of one I submitted my Top 5 Christmas albums. This year’s Top 5 Christmas albums recognizes George Winston for his LP December. Another Top 5 from another Louisvillian, Jack Royce has chosen to submit his Top 5 Love Songs. Jack has been married to his wife Elaine for 32 years. They have three children, Jackie, Trevor and Kevin who’ve blessed them with three grandchildren, Evelyn, Sophia and Jack Fortune Royce III. Jack has been a licensed electrical contractor for more than 30 years and a life long lover of rock and popular music. As a younger man he played the saxophone and has taken up the guitar as an adult.

Top 5 Favorite Songs

This Top 5 list comes from Butch Ellis of Louisville Kentucky. Butch is keeping it simple and going with his Top 5 Favorite Songs. A videographer by day Butch has been a performing musician since the age of 15; first on the drums although within a few years he switched to bass guitar. Butch’s list has a couple common threads in that it includes both a Beatles song and a solo Beatle song as well as including two songs that feature the bass guitar player many people consider, if not the greatest, probably the most influential.

This, our first listener submitted top five list, comes from Kevin Manker of Adams,  Tennessee.  Kevin is an ex-bull rider and calf roper and remains an avid horseman and trainer.  Whether he’s home working his horse in the arena, helping his brother on a large horse and cattle operation or on a five day pack ride in the Grand Tetons Kevin has lived the life of a modern day cowboy.  These are his current 5 favorite songs about rodeo life.

OK I submitted the songs myself. But somebody had to get the ball rolling. Also it the 5 sets spread very nicely across the entire show. But regular top five lists will have all songs played at the same time. 
This is actually 10 songs. Because it's top five pairs of songs. These are songs that appear one after the other on a record album and they blend so well together that if you only hear one it's as if you've only listened to half the song. As the one song is ending you are already anticipating that seamless segue, that transition that seems like it just must happen, into the next song.
